Gas boiler service in Chișinău and Moldova: 2026 prices, what it includes and who may do it
In October 2026, servicing a gas boiler with a sealed combustion chamber costs 431.77 lei including VAT at the gas operator Chișinău-gaz and 340.46 lei at Bălți-Gaz, while mesterulmeu.md lists a boiler service at 300–800 lei. Parts are extra: on one Chișinău price list, a circulation pump starts at 2,300 lei and an expansion vessel at 1,150 lei. Only a registered specialised company may service the boiler; without annual certificates for the appliances and flue, the operator disconnects the gas.

How we gathered the figures
On 23 October 2026 we checked the price lists of the gas operators Chișinău-gaz and Bălți-Gaz, the platforms remont.md, topmaster.md and mesterulmeu.md, EuroSanteh's installation list, the Arsal-Service parts list and a public tender bid. These are prices published by named providers, not market averages. Operator tariffs include VAT; the platforms do not say whether travel is included.
How much does a gas boiler service cost in 2026?
Chișinău-gaz and Bălți-Gaz publish fixed prices, while tradesperson platforms show ranges. A boiler with a sealed combustion chamber costs more to service than one with automatic controls; if you are not sure which type you have, put the model in your request.

For a wall-hung boiler in an apartment, budget 300–800 lei plus parts if the engineer finds something worn, and ask for the list of operations and the certificate at the end.

Older boilers with a pilot and thermocouple. Bălți-Gaz charges, including VAT, 157.02 lei to replace the pilot burner, 183.19 lei for the thermocouple, 314.04 lei for the electromagnetic valve and 654.20 lei for soot cleaning. For a wall-hung boiler's ignition electrode, expansion vessel or sensors, the lists give no separate labour price: ask for a fixed price including diagnosis.
Travel is listed separately in Chișinău-gaz's price list for servicing gas installations: 152.92 lei including VAT; at Bălți-Gaz, a fitter's call-out costs 105.94 lei. With private tradespeople, ask whether the diagnosis fee is deducted from the repair.
How much do parts cost: pump, expansion vessel, electrode, board
The part often decides the total. We used the published list of the Arsal-Service shop in Chișinău; the exact price depends on the model.

Is the boiler losing pressure? That is a symptom, not a fixed-price repair. A public tender specification requires checking the expansion vessel (air pressure and tightness) and the safety valves and finding leaks: find out what failed before paying for parts. At EuroSanteh, the price covers wall mounting, connection to prepared heating and water outlets, a flexible gas connection and commissioning; the flue is paid separately.
Do you need a design project? According to EuroSanteh, a boiler of the same output in the same place usually needs no change to the design, while moving it or increasing the output requires a new one. Chișinău-gaz's guide (opens in a new tab) requires a connection permit when the gas flow changes or an appliance is added, issued within 10 working days, and, where applicable, the flue certificate, the boiler service contract or a new boiler's warranty, and certificates of conformity.

Who may service a gas boiler and what is mandatory in Moldova?
The rules come from the minimum safety requirements for gas distribution approved by Government Decision No. 552/2017 (opens in a new tab), as amended in 2025:
- Who services: specialised companies registered in the State Register of potentially hazardous industrial facilities and technical installations (point 649). Adjustment and commissioning: the operator or a specialised company, with a mandatory certificate (points 642–643).
- Annual certificates: gas is supplied only if the proper working of the appliances, the automatic gas shut-off, the flues and the ventilation is confirmed every year by certificates from specialised companies (point 627).
- Disconnection: without valid certificates, the operator disconnects the installation until the problem is fixed (point 634¹, in force since 25.05.2025).
- Flue: checked and cleaned at least once a year, before the heating season; brick flues every quarter; new flues every 6 months for the first 2 years. Checks are done by specialists certified by the state fire-safety authority and recorded in a certificate (points 630, 633, 660).
- Prohibited: gas work, moving, replacing or repairing the installation without authorisation; altering the appliance, flue or ventilation; disabling the automatic protection; using gas after the flue certificate has expired (annex 3, point 8).
- Who is responsible: in private houses and apartments, the owner; for flue and ventilation ducts in apartment blocks, the housing management company (annex 3, points 2–4).
The National Inspectorate for Technical Supervision (opens in a new tab) (INST) points out that only legal entities registered in the State Register may lawfully install, adjust, maintain and repair potentially hazardous installations; documents issued by an unregistered entity may be invalid. The list of registered companies (opens in a new tab), published as preliminary information, has a section for gas supply installations: search for the company by name or tax code.
The mandatory clauses of the supply contract in the ANRE regulation (opens in a new tab) say the same: no new appliances outside the design without the operator's consent, and faults are repaired by specialised units or authorised persons. Bălți-Gaz (opens in a new tab) also asks consumers to sign technical service contracts.
Reconnection after a disconnection for violations costs 232.76 lei excluding VAT at Chișinău-gaz if the installation was sealed, and 283.33 lei if a threaded plug was fitted (ANRE tariffs (opens in a new tab), March 2026), plus the service, which is mandatory anyway.
What should a proper annual boiler service include?
Manufacturers recommend an annual service: Vaillant (opens in a new tab), once a year by a registered engineer; Baxi (opens in a new tab), at least annually; Bosch (opens in a new tab) says that installation, cleaning, servicing and repair must be done only by approved specialists. The list below comes from the requirements of a public tender in Moldova (opens in a new tab) (2025), plus Vaillant's checks.
What the engineer checks
- Gas tightness of the boiler and the indoor gas pipe.
- Combustion chamber, burner, nozzles, ignition and ionisation electrodes: cleaning and adjustment.
- Fan, air pressure switch and flue gas draught; at Vaillant, combustion analysis and the flue.
- Gas valve adjustment; at Vaillant, gas pressure and heat input.
- Heat exchanger (descaling if needed), seals and filters.
- Safety devices and flame supervision, controls, sensors and thermostats.
- Expansion vessel, safety valves, pump and the supply voltage to the boiler.
- A service certificate with operating parameters and repair recommendations.
The certificate is the document the operator may ask for. Get it with the date, signature and company details.
What signs show your boiler needs an engineer?
- Gas smell: switch off the appliances, close the valves, open the windows, avoid flames and switches, then call 904 (safety rules (opens in a new tab)).
- Weak draught, closed vents or cracks in the flue duct: the rules forbid using gas then.
- Headache, dizziness or nausea while a fuel-burning appliance runs: possible carbon monoxide poisoning.
- Pressure drops below the range in the manual, or you top it up often.
- The boiler runs non-stop or the hot water stays cold: call a specialist; for cold water, Bosch mentions the settings, the thermostat and heat exchanger deposits.
- An error code or a safety device stopping the boiler: do not bypass it; the rules forbid using gas with faulty automatic protection.
Carbon monoxide: what to do and how to protect yourself
Carbon monoxide has no colour and no smell (NHS (opens in a new tab)). On 19 October 2026, Moldova's emergency service IGSU (opens in a new tab) reported three people taken to hospital after carbon monoxide poisoning in the Comrat and Cimișlia districts. With a headache, dizziness, nausea or weakness, leave the room immediately, call 112 and get medical help. The rules also forbid sleeping in rooms with gas appliances.
Detectors. On 20 October 2026, IGSU (opens in a new tab) recommended smoke and gas detectors in homes. Decision 552/2017 requires a gas detector for appliances in the basement or semi-basement of a private house: sound and light alarm at 0.2% gas in the air, automatic shut-off at 1%. We found no general carbon monoxide detector requirement; the NHS recommends one in every room with appliances that burn gas, coal or wood. What should you check before the 2026–2027 heating season?
On 15 October 2026, Termoelectrica (opens in a new tab) said it can switch on heating in Chișinău at building administrators' request, regardless of the City Hall order date. With your own boiler you decide when to start, but the certificates and flue must be in order first. Bosch recommends servicing in summer; if you have not done it, book it now.
Autumn checklist
- A service certificate from the last 12 months and a valid flue and ventilation certificate.
- Pressure on the gauge, with the system cold, within the range in the manual.
- Vents open, nothing blocked because «it lets the cold in».
- Flue terminal clear; in winter, building owners check it at least monthly (point 637).
- Gas valve accessible and the 904 number in sight.
- Error code or unusual noise noted, with photos, for the engineer.

Assumptions: an apartment in a Chișinău block, a 24 kW wall-hung boiler with a sealed combustion chamber. A private tradesperson services it, finds the circulation pump seized and replaces it during the same visit.

The part makes the difference, not the service: ask to see the faulty part and the code of the new one, and compare the price with one more quote.
How do you compare quotes in Chișinău, Bălți, Cahul and villages?
We have no data on cheaper towns, but the operators give reference points: in Bălți, Bălți-Gaz charges 340.46 lei including VAT for a boiler with a sealed chamber, against 431.77 lei at Chișinău-gaz. In Cahul, Cahul-gaz (opens in a new tab) publishes only its regulated tariffs online, without a price for appliance servicing: ask for it in writing.
Distance matters even in official tariffs: at Chișinău-gaz, restoring gas to a house with a cooker and a boiler costs 458.56 lei in town and 550.27 lei in a village. For Orhei, Ungheni, Strășeni or a village in Ialoveni district, ask where the engineer comes from, what the trip costs and whether they carry the parts. Details for a clear quote
- Make, model and output from the rating plate, plus the year of installation.
- Type: wall-hung or floor-standing, sealed or open combustion chamber, condensing or not.
- The exact error code, the noise, the gauge pressure and since when the problem appears.
- Photos of the boiler, display, rating plate, connections and flue.
- Date of the last service and the boiler and flue certificates.
- Town or village, floor, house or apartment.
- Who buys the parts: original or compatible.
