What the Social media module does
Social media is an optional module of Crelto (crelto.com). Once you turn it on, you can write and schedule posts in Crelto, and Crelto publishes them to your own Facebook Pages, Instagram professional accounts, Threads accounts and TikTok accounts. When you open a connected account, it also shows you its latest posts, and on Facebook Pages you can edit or delete posts.
The service is operated by Crelto. For any question about your data, write to us at support@creatego.net.
Data we receive when you connect an account
When you connect an account, you sign in on the platform's own page and choose which permissions to give Crelto. From the platform we receive:
- the account or Page ID, name, username and the address (URL) of the profile picture;
- the access token and, on platforms that use one, the refresh token, which let Crelto publish on your behalf;
- the list of permissions you granted;
- for TikTok, also the creator's posting settings: the allowed audiences, the interaction settings (comments, Duet, Stitch) and the maximum video length.
In Crelto we also keep what you create: the text of your posts, the attached photos and videos, the accounts and time you chose, and the publishing result (the status and the link to the published post).
Data we do not access
Crelto does not request or receive access to:
- your private messages;
- your followers list;
- your passwords: you sign in directly with the platform and Crelto never sees them;
- your payment data.
We do not copy, store or analyse the posts you already have on these accounts.
How we use the data
We use the data received from the platforms only to:
- show you in Crelto which accounts you have connected;
- show you the latest posts of a connected Facebook Page, Instagram or Threads account when you open it in Crelto: they are read live from the platform and not stored;
- edit the text of a post on your Facebook Page, or delete it, only when you ask us to;
- publish exactly the content you chose, to the accounts you chose, at the time you chose.
We never sell this data and never use it for advertising or profiling. We do not share it with anyone except the platform you publish to: when you publish, the post's text and files are sent to that platform.
Storage and security
Access tokens are stored encrypted on Crelto's servers and are never shown in the browser.
Photos and videos stay in your private Crelto storage. Only while publishing, the platform receives a signed link to the file, valid for 24 hours, so it can fetch it.
How long we keep the data
We keep the data until you disconnect the account, delete the post or your Crelto account, or ask us to delete it.
The publishing history (the post's status and the link to the published post) stays with the post in Crelto until you delete it.
Your controls
You can disconnect any account at any time in Crelto, under Social media → Accounts. Disconnecting erases the account's access token.
You can also revoke Crelto's access from the platform's settings:
- FacebookSettings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations / Apps and websites
- InstagramSettings → Apps and websites / Website permissions
- ThreadsSettings → Account → Website permissions
- TikTokSettings and privacy → Security → Manage app permissions
You can ask for your data to be deleted by writing to support@creatego.net or by sending a data deletion request from Meta's settings. You can check the status of a request received through Meta on the Data deletion page.
Platform policies
Once published, your content is on that platform and its privacy policy applies: the Meta Privacy Policy for Facebook, Instagram and Threads, and the TikTok Privacy Policy for TikTok.
Changes to this page
When we change how we use data, we update this page and the “last updated” date at its top.
